Our curriculum reflects the values of our school, our Catholic character and community. We know children learn best when they are engaged, supported and confident enough to take risks in their learning.
We provide broad and rich contexts for learning in the essential learning areas of English, Mathematics, the Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Technology, ICT, Health, Physical Education and Religious Education. Our curriculum is child centred and is planned to ensure natural connections are made across all curriculum dimensions, values, key competencies, learning areas and knowledge.
Emphasis is given to learning in English and Mathematics and the timetable reflects the priority of these foundation learning areas. (School Number 3019)
St Patrick’s is situated in the heart of Kilbirnie; we make use of local community resources to enrich our learning programmes. The Kilbirnie Library, Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre and ASB Sports Centre are all used to support our comprehensive teaching and learning programmes.
